  AIDS DISPLACED STUDENTS OF
  NEW ORLEANS FRENCH SCHOOLS
  
  SAN DIEGO, September 6, 2005 -- San Diego International School, a French-American school, is reaching out to help the students of the independent French schools in New Orleans who were left without a school in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, principal André Bordes announced today. “We are offering the children of New Orleans to attend our school in San Diego, so that they can continue their studies in a French-American school. Of course, there will be no charge for tuition,” said Bordes.
  
  The school’s efforts are part of nationwide aid being extended from the Department of French Schools at the French Embassy in Washington D.C. The Embassy has made the request to all the French schools in the U.S. in an effort to help the displaced students and their families. The French Embassy will be in contact with the New Orleans families and will place them in the French schools throughout the U.S. that are able to accept additional students.
  
  “Many families from San Diego International School have come forward and are willing to open their homes to the hurricane victims,” added Bordes, “so the students will have both a home and a school and will be well provided for by the host families.” The school will accept students from New Orleans in kindergarten and from 4th – 8th grades for the entire school year.
